Here is Miranda's cheerleading squad working on their halftime routine.

Miranda was very excited to get her uniform for the game on Friday. She also likes it that her team is the same one that won the Superbowl this year.

Ryan had another game on Friday, where he scored two touchdowns!! He usually sticks to the defensive side of the ball, by pulling flags, but it turns out he is pretty fast when it comes to carrying the ball.

Miranda and I went to a mother/daughter activity and had our picture taken together. I can't believe how big she is getting!

Miranda has such a great time cheering and can't wait until their uniforms arrive this week!

We spent the morning at Ryan's football game and the afternoon at Miranda's. She cheers for the Giants and loves it!

Olivia is a squinter when she smiles these days, which makes us all laugh! I had to grab her more than once off the football field during the game. She missed her brother Ryan, so she had to go give him a hug at half time.

Ryan is on a flag football team with other 5 and 6 year-olds. His favorite thing to do is pull the flags, which he is quite good at.

Well, football season has arrived on Okinawa! Ryan's team is the Bears and today was his first game.

I got to pin on Ryan's patch which is upside down until he does a good deed.

Little did I know that not only would Ryan get his face painted, but so would I.

Ryan earned his bobcat patch for Tigers and I got to paint his face.

At the information center at Nakijin Castle ruins we found an Okinawan woman dressed as a geisha. Miranda wanted a picture with her, while Ryan was too shy.

Someone offered to take our picture. The kids and I really enjoyed our day of exploration and look forward to doing it more often!

This is a close up of the cherry blossoms. The kids really enjoyed our day out, especially after they had talked about the significance of the cherry blossoms in their Japanese culture classes.

After visiting the Cherry Blossom Festival we made a stop at Nakijin Castle Ruins. The blossoms are just starting to bloom and they were already beautiful! They have it lit for an evening show they do this time of year. Next year we'll go see the show when Duane can be with us.

This is Japanese carnival food! They cook everything from rice and yakisoba to french fries and chicken nuggets. Ryan and Olivia opted for the rice, while Miranda waited for a stop at McDonalds.

This is a view of the city of Nago in north western Okinawa. In the distance is a faint view of the ocean. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit dreary.

Miranda and Ryan did little complaining climbing the 175 stairs up to the top of the hill, while Olivia got to ride on Mommy's shoulders.

The kids and I went to the Cherry Blossom Festival in Nago. The blossoms were just starting to bloom.
