Evan Update
Evan is now one week post op and is doing very well. He is back on his normal eating and sleeping schedule (thank goodness!!). Evan is also glad to be rid of the "no-no" and to be able to grab at toys and put his hands in his mouth! The doctors did a fantastic job and it is amazing how quickly it is healing. We can't wait to see what it looks like in a few weeks!

Evan's Surgery
As most of you know, Evan had surgery to repair his cleft lip and things went very smoothly. It was hard, as a mother, to have them take him away, but they assured me that they would take care of him as if he were their own. After feeling anxiety the past week about it, I finally decided that I needed to have faith that everything would go well. Once I came to that realization, I felt peace and comfort. I couldn't wait to see Evan and after three hours they finally called me back to recovery. He laid there so listless and I immediately felt guilt about the discomfort he was in. I couldn't wait to hold him and let him know I was there. It's been a rough week so far, but it is amazing how fast he is healing and today is the first time I could lay him in his bed and took a nap. Hopefully, I'll get more than a few hours of sleep tonight.:) We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers that were sent our way.
I wanted to take pictures of Evan the last few days before his surgery because I would not see him like this again. I'm going to miss seeing the Evan that was born in the wee hours of the morning on the 28th of February, but look forward to seeing him heal and be more handsome than ever.
The day after Evan's surgery, I thought it looked like he had been in a boxing match because the left side of his face was so swollen.
By the afternoon that same day, the swelling had gone down considerably. In his swing he looked pretty silly with his "no-no" (that's for no-no hands in the mouth) on.
Day two after surgery--As you can see, the plastic stint came out of his nose, so we had to go back to UNC and they ended up taking it out.
Day three after surgery--This is our first glimpse of the new Evan. We can't wait to see what he looks like when the swelling is gone and he is all healed up!

Olivia's First Day of Preschool
When I was told that she was number 13 on the waiting list I didn't hold out much hope for a slot, but amazingly enough she got in! She loves going to school and wishes she could go everyday.
