Evan Turns One!

I can't believe that my baby is a month old! Where has the time gone! We all love having Evan around and he gets lots of love and attention.

The Adventures of Ryan

Ryan's had quite a busy month! He started the month with an attempt at a new haircut. One morning before school he came down and said that his hair was falling out, hence the noticeable bald spot seen in the picture. Hmmmm, could he really be losing his hair or was he attempting to give himself a haircut with his father's clippers?! It was definitely the latter and he admitted to trying to give himself a Mohawk. I was dying of laughter and to teach him a lesson wanted him to go to school with his unfinished haircut. I think that would cure him from trying to cut his hair again. Unfortunately, Duane decided to shave his head and he happily went to school.

Ryan also got to participate in the International Pinewood Derby. As you may recall, Duane and I were shocked that he actually placed at the last derby and made it to the international one. Unfortunately, he did come in last place almost every time. Ryan watched intently as his car raced, hoping it would come in any place but last. Better luck next year, Ryan!

Ryan's car is the one at the end of the yellow lane.

Every year the school has a Literature Parade. This is our third one and this year it is just Ryan, since Miranda moved up to a different school. The kids must pick a favorite book and dress up as its main character. Each class then marches around the school. This year Duane had the day off and got to watch. All these years and he didn't know what he was missing:)!

Hey, is that a smile on my son's face!! See, I knew he could smile!

Look, it's another smile!

Our New Arrival

On Saturday February 28th Evan Duane Foote came into the world. He came in weighing 7lbs 15oz and was 20.5 inches long. Evan wasted no time getting here since we were only at the hospital two hours and he was born. He was born with a cleft lip and palate which came as a surprise, but we are happy that other than that he is perfectly healthy. We are so glad that Evan is a part of our family.

Miranda, Ryan and Olivia love their new little brother and look forward to seeing him when they wake up in the morning and when they get home from school.
