Are you feeling the pinch?
Okay, so I used to be commended on how little money I could feed my family with, but I am now slipping and slipping fast!! Maybe, it's because we live overseas and we either get our food locally or it ships from CA, but I can't believe how much money I've been spending on food!!! I think I've tripled what I used to spend in NC. Yes, my kids are older and now that they are home for summer break they eat more, but really triple what I used to spend. Are you ladies in the states feeling the same pinch? Does anyone else pay $3-5/lb for apples, $4/lb for red peppers, or $3/lb for fresh mushrooms?! I sure hope not! The price for produce has always been a bit higher, but it is now going through the roof!! Remember that food storage thing, I'm beginning to think it may be because food will become too expensive and not because it won't be there. We really need to get crackin' on our storage.

Hi Elizabeth!
Same crunch here in Oklahoma. $3.98 for a bag of apples, $4.05 for milk and $3.98 a gallon for gas....and creeping up every day. Not to mention the total cost for three teenage boys.........UGHHHH.
It's good to know we're not the only ones feeling the pinch. We pay about $2.50 for a half gallon of milk and gas in now up to $4.01. I'll consider myself fortunate that I don't have three teenage boys and just one son and a husband with a big appetite.
okay, that is so funny that you posted that because i was just thinking the exact same thing yesterday! we are going to buy a wheat grinder and start stock piling the food because i do think that in a year it will be even worse! i think it must be more expensive over there. i just went shopping yesterday and it wasn't as bad as that. i think i am going to try to store things like canned foods, wheat, rice so that if we need to all we will have to buy will be fresh produce and dairy.
and since everyone else did it, here are the stats for Salt Lake City,
$3.99 gas, $2.50 gallon of milk, $1.59 pound of apples & .34 for a cucumber...
