Our Garden

So, now that we have a house, we've decided to plant a garden. Duane convinced me to go bigger rather than smaller, even though it intimidates me, since we've never had a garden before. Duane worked with a friend to bring in topsoil and prep it, while Ryan and I planted the seeds and plants. This picture was taken about a month ago, so we've seen quite a bit of growth since then. This garden bed contains: corn, arugula, green and red leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, carrots, onion, green onion, tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, brussel sprouts (I'm sure I'll be the only one to eat these, unless my mom comes for a visit), basil, oregano, thyme, rosemary, cilantro and parsley. We have a smaller bed off to the side that has squash, zucchini, beans, peas, watermelon and cucumbers. We'll keep you posted on the progress and how fruitful it is. Thanks to our sprinkler system I don't have to water it, but I did notice some weeds in it the other day, so I will need to get rid of those. Hmmm, maybe I'll get the kids to help with that.:)

Yay, so many pictures of your wonderful family. I love all of the updates. Um, Ryan cracks me up. I can just picture him hiding behind the tree because he did't win the pinewood derby. I am only laughing because I can imagine I will have the same thing with Luke next year. Oh, these boys.

What a beautiful Easter! You may (or may NOT) be suprised to hear that we had snow on Easter...again. I would love to have the hunt outside in our shorts and Easter dresses. (Oh wait, we don't do dresses!)

Good luck with the garden. I don't think I am going to get around to it this year. I WILL start my strawberries and raspberries so I can have them next year, but everything else it going to have to wait until we actually put in the yard.
