The biggest event of our summer was our 15 day trip through New England. When I told people what we were planning on doing for our family vacation there were mixed reactions. There were those who thought it was a fantastic idea and those who thought we were crazy to pack our four kids into the van and galavant through the Northeast. I never thought we were crazy to do it, but after more than one person reacted in such a way, it go me thinking... maybe we are crazy to do this?! Should we rethink this vacation...of course not!!
The day after Miranda's birthday we packed everything and everyone into the van and took off, headed for Philadelphia, PA. We had been to Philadelphia before, but hadn't been since the older kids were young. Our first stop was Valley Forge, were we learned about General Washington and the role Valley Forge played in the American Revolution. After spending time in Valley Forge, we headed east to Philadelphia to tour the mint, Betsy Ross house and see the Liberty Bell. Unfortunately, the tickets were all gone to tour Independence Hall, but we had been there before, so we weren't too disappointed. After spending all day in the sun (this was when it was 106 degrees), we headed to the Reading Terminal Market in search of a philly cheesesteak!! You know you can't go there and not get one! Once we had filled our bellies and seen what we could, we ventured north to New York City.

I think you are CRAZY! But, I would totally take advantage of being able to hit so many amazing vacation spots and do the exact same thing! Can't wait to see more pictures and hear more stories about your fun vacation. NO, Miranda CANNOT be 12. We simply are NOT that OLD!!!!!
Wow! I cannot believe what you packed into 2 weeks! Amazing. It sounds both torturous and super fun!!! I still wish you would have come out to Utah though!!! Maybe for a BYU game?? You have a place to stay! We are closing on our new house next week and are very excited to get visitors.
