After seeing the beautiful views of the Hudson, we headed to Hartford, CT and stopped at the Mark Twain House and Museum. The tour was fantastic!! If you are ever up in that area, it is a place you must visit! Unfortunately, Duane didn't get to hear most of the tour because Evan wanted to touch everything and NOTHING was supposed to be touched. The older three kids and I enjoyed the tour. Thanks Duane for sacrificing.:)

The Mark Twain House
It was pouring, so this was the best picture I could get. |
Our next stop was to Cape Cod, MA. The original plan was to drive all the way to the tip of the hook, but with the beautiful weather (Did I mention that the weather was gorgeous?!! A cool barely 80 degrees for most of the rest of our trip north, didn't make us too eager to get back to the sweltering heat of NC.) came many people wanting to head to the beach. It was bumper to bumper traffic, so we turned around and headed to Plymouth, MA.

Cape Cod National Park Visitor Center
After eating lunch at a yummy cafe, which we found through Trip Advisor (a must use for any trip), we spent the afternoon wandering through town. |

Plymouth Rock
This wasn't too impressive, just a rock in the sand. I guess I thought it would be a lot bigger. |

Our favorite stop in Plymouth was Cupcake Charlie's! We are a fan of Cupcake Wars and they were the runner up on one of the episodes. These cupcakes were super scrumptious!!! They were definitely better than the ones we had in NYC from Magnolia Bakery! Another must stop if you're in the area!

After a fun filled day at Cape Cod and in Plymouth, we headed up to spend a couple of days in the Boston area. We walked the freedom trail taking in all the history. Unfortunately, the two-year-old (Evan) wasn't in the mood for a formal tour, so we had to make up our own. The older kids were a little disappointed, but it is just another excuse to come visit again.:) I absolutely loved Boston!! It is a beautiful city that is large, but has a small town feel to it. I can't wait to visit again, hopefully in the fall when I can see all the beautiful colors!
